Our stories shape how we see ourselves and our lives. Through trauma-informed therapy, we can begin to understand the experiences that have shaped our story and discover new possibilities for healing and growth.
Online EMDR and trauma therapy can help us process what has kept us stuck, recognize the strengths we've gained along the way, and move toward hope, healing, and recovery.
Mary Goggins is the CEO and founder of Lantern Recovery Services, a trauma-informed mental health organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by addiction and mental health challenges. Born and raised in Wisconsin as one of seven children, Mary brings both a grounded perspective and deep compassion—shaped by her personal journey and more than 18 years of experience in the behavioral health field. After relocating to Arizona in 2022, she has continued her mission of service while also cherishing her role as a proud mother of three grown daughters. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending quality time with family and friends.
Lantern Recovery Services was founded in February 2024, inspired by Mary’s belief in the power of taking small, steady steps—even in times of uncertainty. The name Lantern stems from a deeply personal moment during a difficult season when a friend encouraged her to envision a lantern at her feet—illuminating just the next step in her addiction recovery journey. This practice of presence, resisting the urge to “future trip,” became central to Lantern Recovery’s philosophy, which includes offering online counseling and online EMDR therapy as tools for healing. Its guiding verse, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105), reflects the mission of offering hope and direction through online trauma therapy—one step at a time.
Mary offers trauma-informed therapy that is fully online and accessible for adults in Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, Florida, and New Jersey. Her evidence-based approach includes online EMDR therapy, parts work, and other eclectic methods tailored for addiction recovery and to facilitate deep, lasting healing through online trauma therapy.

How It Works
1. Submit Your Insurance or Payment Information & Schedule Your Intake
Get started by submitting your insurance or payment details through our secure client portal or via email. Once received, we’ll schedule your intake appointment to discuss your needs related to addiction recovery, answer your questions about online counseling, and ensure we’re the right fit for online EMDR therapy, online trauma therapy, and trauma-informed therapy.
2. Begin Your First Session
After your intake, we’ll schedule your first therapy session, whether in-person or through online counseling options. This is a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore your story, clarify your goals, and begin laying the foundation for meaningful change, especially in your journey of addiction recovery. You set the pace—there’s no pressure to have it all figured out, and if you’re seeking specialized help, we also offer online EMDR therapy and online trauma therapy as part of our trauma-informed therapy approach.
3. Continue Your Healing Journey
Healing is a process, and we’re here to walk alongside you on your journey towards addiction recovery. Through ongoing sessions of online counseling, we’ll collaborate to support your growth, resilience, and well-being. Our focus on online EMDR therapy and online trauma therapy ensures that we help you build the life you want, one step at a time, through trauma-informed therapy.

The stories we tell ourselves shape our reality. What story are we telling ourselves about our lives today? What do we believe our lives are supposed to look like? Through trauma-informed therapy, we can learn to embrace painful emotions and difficult journeys as opportunities for growth and transformation.
In struggle, what strengths, assets, and hidden gems have we uncovered? Online EMDR and trauma therapy can help us process experiences that have kept us stuck and begin seeing our stories differently. Sharing those stories reminds us that we are not alone and can become a source of hope, healing, and recovery.
